Every mom or dad will know getting a girl to brush their hair is hard!
There are loads of tears and tantrums before you can even get out the door.
Getting the right brush and sticking to a haircare routine will definitely help with this situation.
These are eight of my favourite brushes for girls...
Firstly, my key tip for brushing is to always start from the ends and work your way up the hair.
If you brush straight from the roots any tangles are going to combine as one towards the end, making it more painful to brush. By starting at the ends, you can remove them a bit at a time which should be a lot more comfortable.
You can also hold the roots of the hair near the scalp, this will help with feeling the pull from the brush.
These brushes are beautiful! They come in all different Disney designs so you can find the perfect Disney character for your little girl. They are so popular at the minute.
And many more.
Wet brushes are great as they help prevent tugging, pulling and ripping, which will be much more comfortable when brushing, but it also helps to prevent damage and split ends.
Tangle Teezers are also great for comfortability when brushing, they come with or without a handle and they also do compact ones to fit in a school/gym bag.
This Tangle Teezer is specifically to be used on wet hair and has a non-slip handle, these are great for using in the shower.
Young girls love this hairbrush for the design, it is very cute and girly!
As with the other Tangle Teezer it has some really good benefits. This brush fits in the palm of your hand making it easier to brush with, they are also good for popping in the school bag.
This brush works on all different hair types, straight, wavy, curly, thin or thick.
It has soft nylon bristles combined with a flex spiral design, which will definitely take the tears out of the morning routine.
They are also 100% bio-friendly and recyclable, created from earth-friendly material.
This is definitely one of my favourite brushes which I use in the salon on a daily basis and my clients love too.
I love this detangling set by Lily England! It comes with a detangling brush and wide tooth comb. The comb is great for combing when wet and the brush for when dry. This set comes in a beautiful rose gold color perfect for slightly older girls.
Even better, it has a 365-day money back guarantee!!
This brush is great for thicker, curlier hair types, it also has a beautiful unicorn design on it which girls love.
It can be used on wet or dry hair, and has an anti-slip handle making it easy to use and it leaves the hair looking shiny and frizz free.
There are also a few other things that you can do to help with avoiding tears when brushing.
A really important step is to use a leave in conditioner on a daily basis.
One of my favourites is the Milkshake Incredible Milk, not only does it help with detangling, but girls love the smell as it has a real Vanilla Milkshake smell to it.
Even better – you can use it too! It has 12 amazing benefits ranging from heat protection, UV protection to preventing split ends.
How to use: Simply spray two pumps into your hands and run through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, you can then go through with a brush.

Following from this, try not to wash the hair too often, once a week is plenty. Washing the hair too much will strip the hair of its natural oils.
When you do wash the hair, apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends and give it a good comb through with a wide tooth comb before rinsing, this will help when you come to brush it.

Lastly, distraction is KEY! Give them a toy, read a book, or watch something on YouTube, this will take their mind off you brushing their hair and will hopefully stop any tantrums.
