Every mom or dad will know getting a girl to brush their hair is hard!
There are loads of tears and tantrums before you can even get out the door.
Getting the right brush and sticking to a haircare routine will definitely help with this situation.
These are eight of my favourite brushes for girls...
Firstly, my key tip for brushing is to always start from the ends and work your way up the hair.
If you brush straight from the roots any tangles are going to combine as one towards the end, making it more painful to brush. By starting at the ends, you can remove them a bit at a time which should be a lot more comfortable.
You can also hold the roots of the hair near the scalp, this will help with feeling the pull from the brush.

Wet brushes are great as they help prevent tugging, pulling and ripping, which will be much more comfortable when brushing, but it also helps to prevent damage and split ends.

There are also a few other things that you can do to help with avoiding tears when brushing.
A really important step is to use a leave in conditioner on a daily basis.

Following from this, try not to wash the hair too often, once a week is plenty. Washing the hair too much will strip the hair of its natural oils.
When you do wash the hair, apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends and give it a good comb through with a wide tooth comb before rinsing, this will help when you come to brush it.

Lastly, distraction is KEY! Give them a toy, read a book, or watch something on YouTube, this will take their mind off you brushing their hair and will hopefully stop any tantrums.
