HSI Professional a company based out of the Miami area. They deliver salon-quality flat irons and other styling tools as well as hair care to consumers from 47+ countries all over the world.

I am a big fan of Jason Makki, a talented barber stylist based out of Dubai. He sometimes uses the HSI Professional brand of  Hair Straightener on his clients. However,  if you think that black is just too manly, it also comes in PINK.

Limitations: 

  1. No auto-shutoff
  2. Not show the actual temperature for better control
  3. May not get as hot as 450F for medium/thick hair
  4. This may be a result of improper technique, try using a regular fine-tooth comb held next to the iron all the way through to the end.

In Review

The main differences between these HSI Professional Flat Irons are:

  1. Temperature range
  2. Dial vs. Digital heat control
  3. More expensive models are solid Ceramic or Titanium plates and not just coated.

My recommendation :  if you can afford the digital heat control, buy it. Digitally controlled temperature settings on hair straighteners are more accurate and help you to use just the right amount of heat and not more.

So for fine or thin hair, choose the ones that start with the lower temperatures. Ceramic is better for fine or thin hair over the titanium model.
For Thick Hair, choose the Titanium model.
