Very few things in life are more valuable than our precious time. So we best not waste any on tedious chores like blow-drying.

Have you been debating whether or not this Revlon One-step hair dryer and styler is for you? Do you want to say goodbye to your old  hair dryer?

Before you do anything crazy, I want to help you make an informed decision.

In this post, we are going to talk about what you can realistically expect from the Revlon one-step hair dryer. For what type of hair it’s most useful. We will also answer how to make the most of the heat settings.

What is the Revlon one-step dryer and volumizer?

First things first,  the word ”hair dryer” is deceptive. The Revlon one-step, in reality, is a hot air brush.

Revlon has produced 3 different styles of hot air brushes. (one-step dryers) I love my hot air brush; it's a lifesaver. However, you need to know what you can do with it and how to get the most from it.

Another reason for the name “dryer” is deceiving is it's not really intended for wet hair. Its advertising suggests that due to the low wattage you can use it near the scalp without the risk of burn.

Realistically, the Revlon one-step dryer should only be used on damp hair. You’ll want to towel dry before you start.  However, don't dry your hair vigorously with the towel; it's better to wrap up your hair like a movie star for a few minutes while you ready yourself.

The hair is at its most fragile state when it's wet. So you need to treat your hair gently while wet. Also, it's best to brush and detangle your hair before you even shower, so that you will not be doing this with your Revlon one step dyer.

Can the Revlon one-step dry faster than a conventional blow dryer?

In a word No. If you decide to dry your wet hair, it may take you longer than usual, especially if you have thick or lengthy hair.

To illustrate the kind of blowing power you get with this dryer/styler.

When you think of a powerful hairdryer does a hotel hairdryer come to mind?  No, Not really. That’s precisely the same wattage coming from the Revlon one-step dryer and volumizer. Something a hotel dryer and this baby have in common is their fun size.

Unfortunately, some people have commented on how they started off satisfied with their dryer only later to realize that hair had been damaged after only a few months of use.

The Revlon one-step dryer and styler is more potent than a traditional hot air brush.

The unique oval-shaped styler is larger than a 2” standard round brush. The larger size straightens and adds volume to your hair instead of curl. As its name suggests it’s for giving you lift at the scalp (volume) and a slight bend to the rest of the hair. If you are looking for a hair tool that gives more waves, you may prefer to try a traditional round hot air brush.

Just as different brushes give you different results. The same is valid with hot air brushes.

Over-brushing Is terrible for your hair, the friction it causes leads to cuticle damage and breakage, which makes hair dull and frizzy. Brush your hair minimally (only to detangle or style) -CNN

How to use the heat settings

Unfortunately, some people started out delighted with their dryer volumizer, only to later realize that after only a few months of use damaged their hair.

There are several factors to keep in mind

Remember always to use a heat protection product

Damp hair drying is preferred to drying wet hair.

Choose the lowest heat setting possible to achieve results. High heat should be used with caution. Use high heat briefly at the end of your session to smooth and shine. Low- the preferred setting for most hair types. Cool (this is like the cool shot button on your regular hair dryer) After you have smoothed out the hair and given it some shape, set the shape, and close the cuticle with the cold air setting.

In conclusion

The Revlon one-step dryer and volumizer's lightweight, compact design make it an ideal travelling companion. I Travel all the time with my Hot Air Brush Dryer instead of a regular hair dryer.

And The occasional full blowout for your hair shouldn't be a problem. Precaution should be taken in blow-drying wet hair. Try to use the Revlon one-step hair dryer and styleron for damp hair only. Long-term damage can result from treating wet hair harshly the pulling and high heat settings of the brush. Additionally, Avoid over-brushing.

I really hope you enjoy using your new favourite one-step dryer. And that you understand more fully what its potential really is.
